On November 29-30, 2016 European Bioplastics (EUBP) is hosting its 11th annual conference in Berlin, Germany (FPF reported). Themed “Rethinking plastics,” the conference will address the EU policy landscape, the latest technological innovations in materials and conversion of bioplastics, advances in standardization and labeling, bio-based feedstock, end-of-life solutions, as well as the consumer and brand perspective. Rob Opsomer from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation will give a talk on the New Plastics Economy (FPF reported) followed by a panel discussion on “The potential of bioplastics in the New Plastics Economy” featuring, among others, Piotr Barczak from the European Environmental Bureau (EEB) and Delphine Lévi- Alvarès from Zero Waste. Another panel discussion on “The future of European waste management” will explore efficient waste management with regards to bioplastics.
