In an article published on July 19, 2018, by regulatory news provider Chemical Watch, editor Andrew Turley informed that the EU’s human biomonitoring project (HBM4EU) “has prioritized acrylamide [(CAS 79-06-1)], diisocyanates and benzophenone UV filters in its second list of priority substances and substance groups.” The list also includes “aprotic solvents, arsenic, lead, mercury, mycotoxins, . . . pesticides, including pyrethroid substances.”

In this second prioritization round, started in September 2017, stakeholders were asked to nominate substances (FPF reported). This activity “generated a long list of 132 substances, which the project team first reduced to a short list of 32, and then to the final priority list.” The “sampling and fieldwork” for the newly prioritized substances will start in 2019.
