Opinion: Phthalates to be phased-out

Consulting agency Jenner & Block publishes opinion piece, phthalates likely to be removed from consumer products

On September 20, 2013, Steven Siros, consultant for the legal consulting agency Jenner & Block, published an opinion piece on the legal news page Lexology. In the article Siros argues that the recent phase-out of phthalates from consumer products by the retailer Walmart is likely to have an industry wide impact. Siros claims that irrespective of regulatory action by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or other agencies, industry is likely to phase out phthalates from consumer products in response to the activities of consumer activists groups.
