On February 5, 2013 FEICA, the industry association of the European sealant and adhesives industry, published a guidance document on the food contact status declaration for adhesives. The document aims to provide guidance to such extent that manufacturers following it can demonstrate compliance with Regulation EC 1935/2004. It summarizes the relevance of Regulation EC 1935/2004, 2023/2006 and 10/2011 for adhesives and gives insight into European national legislation. Adhesives are not regulated specifically under European Union law, however general regulations and good manufacturing practices (GMPs) applying to all food contact packaging materials have to be complied with.
