An article published on August 24, 2020, by Sustainable Plastics, informed that “the Plastics Circularity Multiplier conference scheduled to take place on 14 October 2020 in Brussels, has been moved to become an online livestreamed event” on October 14-16, 2020. The conference is organized by a network of “twenty one innovation projects” funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 program, which “joined forces in 2019 to boost the efforts of the EU to move towards a circular economy for plastics” and are “seeking to improve value chain collaboration and create cross cooperation between EU Projects.”
The conference program has now been divided into three sessions taking place on October 14-16, 2020. The first day features “the presentation of the Plastics Circularity Multiplier initiative, the presentation of R&D investments and Chemical Recycling (projects DEMETO, polynSPIRE, iCAREPLAST, NONTOX).” Talks of the second day will present “clustering activities in EU Projects, followed by projects on Product design for recycling (Repair3D/SmartFAN, TERMINUS, DECOAT, CIRC-PACK) and Recycled plastic content in products (REMADYL, REACT).” The third day will open “with a presentation on Innovation ecosystems / Circular Plastics Alliance,” followed by “projects relating to the Collection and sorting of plastic waste (PlastiCircle, CREAToR, Life-Repolyuse)” and “the Monitoring of recycled plastics (PolyCE, MultiCycle).”
Participation in the event is free of charge. People who have previously registered for the physical meeting will be automatically registered for the live webinar. Additional registration for webinars is said to “open soon.”
