On November 23, 2017 the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) is holding its annual food conference in Wädenswil, Switzerland. This year’s conference will focus on “packaging of the future.” Food packaging fulfills different purposes, from protecting food from adverse environmental impacts, enabling efficient transport across the supply chain, and communicating ingredients, to marketing. Technological innovations such as active and intelligent packaging systems can increase food protection and help avoid food waste. Further, the use of sustainable packaging materials, such as renewable or recyclable materials, can help reduce the environmental burden. These topics, among others, will be discussed with national and international experts. Registration is open until November 8, 2017.
