UP Scorecard webinar shares resources, tips for eliminating toxic chemicals in packaging

Webinar on June 1, 2022, to share insights and new resources to help companies begin to better identify and address toxic chemicals present in foodware and food packaging; features expert speakers from five different food service companies and civil society organizations

On June 1, 2022, the Understanding Packaging (UP) Scorecard will host a webinar that will provide “a deep dive into why toxic chemicals in food packaging are a business risk and what can be done about it.” The event will feature five expert speakers from the food service industry and civil society organizations including Sodexo, ChemFORWARD, Environmental Defense Fund, Food Packaging Forum, and Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council. These experts will share how to use guidance provided within the UP Scorecard tool as well as free resources their organizations have recently released to help companies better identify and address priority toxic substances that may be present in their foodware and food packaging products.

The webinar will cover three steps companies can take to put safer food packaging on store shelves. Registration is free, and more information about the webinar and how to join can be found on the event’s page.
