In an article published on July 21, 2020, The National Law Review informed that the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has added 5 additional entries to its Inventory of Effective Food Contact Substance (FCS) Notifications since the beginning of June 2020. Food contact substances within the inventory are those that “have been demonstrated to be safe for their intended use.” The new substances are included in the following entry numbers:
- 2054: Chromium(3+) iron(3+) trioxidandiide (C.I. Pigment Brown 29; CAS 109414-04-2 and 12737-27-8)
- 2053: Manganese ferrite black hematite (C.I. Pigment Black 33; CAS 188735-18-4)
- 2052: Tricyclodecanedimethanol (CAS 26896-48-0 and 26160-83-8)
- 2050: Copolymer of acrylamide, 2-methacryloxyethyltrimethylammonium chloride, itaconic acid, and N,N’-methylenebis(acrylamide) (CAS 214495-32-6)
- 2047: Hydrogenated castor oil monoglycerides, acetylated (CAS 736150-63-3)
