On November 10, 2014 the chemical news agency Chemical Watch reported about a new study that found bisphenol A (BPA) in baby bottles sold on the Indian market. The study was conducted by an Indian NGO Toxics Link. The bottles were randomly collected in three different Indian cities (Delhi-NCR, Baripada, Bhopal). The results show that almost 80% of the 14 tested baby bottles contained BPA. Some samples contained BPA concentrations reaching 9.8 parts per million (ppm). This concentration is more than 16 times the 0.6ppm EU threshold limit.
