On November 3-4, 2020, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is hosting a forum on the cost-effective management of industrial and consumer chemicals. The event will be held within its Global Forum on Environment and “discuss the challenges posed by chemicals [as well as] provide knowledge on effective and sustainable policies for the sound management of chemicals.” It aims to enable participants to (i) “exchange experience and best practices in setting-up and  implementing a cost-effective management system for industrial and consumer chemicals, in particular as regards chemicals inventories and legal and institutional frameworks,” (ii) “provide knowledge about the latest progress in terms of methodologies for cost-effective risk management measures such as the grouping of chemicals,” and (iii) “create networks in the field of sound management of chemicals and waste.”

A program for the two-day event has been published, and registration is open. It will take place at the OECD’s offices in Paris, France.
